You can even see other peoples cursors floating around on the canvas, which is a pretty recent cool feature. Oh! Did I mention its collaborative? All of our group members can be viewing/editing the same document at once and everyone else will see them moving their character around. Lucidchart also has a "layers" feature which means I can setup my map with all the bad guys hidden under my fog of war and move them around without the players seeing them. Document can be paged so I name the pages based on different categories (armor, cat-people, dragons, etc.).
#Lucidchart icon software
Our software obviously isn't made for D&D, so I don't know how many people are gonna drop something like Roll20, but I was certainly tickled at coming up with this.Īnyways, I still have to meet my 400 character limit, so other things I use Lucidchart-for-D&D for is making inspiration boards where I copy paste cool images of stuff together collage-style. Right after we finished I realized it was really easy to throw a grid over it with some transparent boxes. We were all quite at a loss, winging it for the last few minutes of the session/encounter. and outpaced the group all the way out of the dungeon, (2 dwarfs and a gnome don't run very fast.), but not quite fast enough to say he just "got away" So we transitioned to using the town map. Today an awkward situation arose where the bad guy made a run for it. I throw down opaque blocks as "fog of war" over the battle maps, we copy paste little images of characters onto the canvas and click and drag them around. I've been using it for a number of D&D related things, (more on that below), but most recently I've been using it for running battle maps with my coworker-D&D-group. Its a lot of things, but at its most basic, its a diagramming software (a very robust, flexible diagramming software!). I'm a software developer for a company called Lucid Software our main product is called Lucidchart.
